Fall 2021 Wedding Design Tips!
Blog
You may have already guessed, but our Castle thrives in the fall season. The weather is beautiful, nights are warm, and our natural charm with the rough stone and rustic motif create the perfect Autumn weddings! Seasonal cocktails, warm accent colors, and the beauty of our surrounding nature captivates and enchants guests from all over.
Beyond the seasonal beauty, we also love the cozy, casual vibe that comes with the fall wedding season. There’s something special—dare we say magical—about seeing couples embrace unique color palettes and creative, experience-minded ideas like mini beer flights and customized corn hole games!
Embrace the Foliage
When planning your florals, take advantage of your surroundings and play up the textures and colors of fall. Your florist will thank you, and incorporating fresh foliage into the day’s décor details like escort cards, centerpieces, and the altar itself will elevate the look of your event.
Say “I Do” to Rustic
Our castle is proof that creating that rustic-chic look is effortless. So take this celebration scene as proof that an elevated dress code won’t look out of place at our Castle. This couple created a chic setting with dark wood, warm blankets, and natural greenery accents.
Welcome Guests
Welcome gifts have become a new standard for couples to give–and generally have available– to their wedding guests now. Of course, it seems like it’d be odd not to offer cute personalized hand sanitizers and optional masks, but what about programs and take-home favors too? Instead of assuming your guests have space in their pockets to fit all these fun trinkets, giving them a box filled with everything they could need from the start is the perfect solution. Guest-centered details like this are blowing up in popularity since so many weddings have been downsized. As a wedding favor that they can actually use at the wedding, these boxes act as a thoughtful way to make your loved ones feel that they’re cared for on your wedding day. Take a cue from this box and include seasonal favorites like local brews and honey.
Serve Apple Cider
Being so close to Julian, the apple capital of San Diego, we love a little warm apple cider at our Autumn events! We also believe that every wedding needs a signature cocktail—and that every fall wedding should have spiked apple cider. The seasonal favorite can be served warm or cold and garnished with spices such as cinnamon, ginger, and rosemary!
Create a Cozy Setting
It’s important to make everyone comfortable at dinner—chances are, it’s where they’ll be spending the majority of the night. After the sunset on our Castle mountain top, the temperatures tend to plummet–no matter how hot the day was. So you can keep everyone toasty by planning around long dining tables, providing blankets, and decorating with candlelight and warm hues!
Set Up a Lounge
We know we already mentioned comfy dinner seating, but this idea applies to cocktail hour as well. Fall is a season for gathering, so ensure your guests do the same with a distinguished lounge area (or a few).
Embrace the Bare Table
If we had to choose a favorite piece from most of our clients’ tablescapes, we’d say it’s the rustic base that really ties it all together. Of course, grand feasting tables are great, but to really draw out the beauty of our natural motif, Farm Tables are definitely the way to go for a fall wedding.
Decorate with Pumpkins
This mixture of mini pumpkins can be found in blue, gold, orange, and white shades! They balance perfectly with matte china and antique-looking charger sets.
Play with Produce
Not a pumpkin person? Opt for a seasonal fruit instead! This place setting features pomegranates marked with calligraphed names, but we’ve seen couples use apples, tangerines, and mini pumpkins! As we mentioned, we’re obsessed with mixing textures and colors this season. This is a fun way to incorporate that idea, and it’s easy on your wallet!
Incorporate Rustic Accents
This ceremony alter is mismatched yet cohesive with varying lanterns, wooden crates, and wildflowers. The finishing touch? Dangling whisps of ethereal eucalyptus and plum dahlias.
Embrace the Semi-Naked Cake
Semi-naked cakes will be in style every season, but they look especially fall-like when covered in rustic accents, wildflowers, and with a touch of cake peeking through.
Serve Mini Pies
When most people think of fall holidays, they think of pies. This is why a mini confection is the perfect fall wedding favor—especially when packaged with a takeout box, fork, and thank you note.
Gift Herb-Infused Favors
After an event focused on food, send everyone home with something to use in their kitchen. We’re into these perfectly packaged bottles of infused oils. Customize them with your favorite flavors, such as rosemary, garlic, or chili peppers, to delight your guests!
Have a Fire Pit (S’mores Optional)
Every fall wedding should end with a campfire—end of the story.
Make the Perfect Getaway
