With Mardi Gras right around the corner, we couldn’t help but reminisce on some of the wild nights we’ve had at the Castle.
Flashes of gorgeous golden accents, lush purples, decadent desserts, and enthusiastic guests ready to dance the night away have us running to our balcony!
Bring a lil’ NOLA to Ramona! Where are those beads?
This Bride below has the right idea! We’ll have what she’s having!
Throwing a bouquet looks pretty similar to throwing beads if you ask us.
Look at these beautiful shoes and how they draw out the gold accents in our antique rug.
These two are king and queen of their own Mardi Gras Parade!
What could possibly be more decadent than Dark Chocolate Covered Bacon? Personal Touch Dining takes the cake in winning our hearts with these bits of salty, sweet perfection.
Doughnuts have stepped in here to replace the beignets that usually accompany any Mardi Gras festival.
Big thanks to all the photographers and the wonderful couples who helped inspire us and brought back all these sweet memories!
Give your wedding a timeless backdrop!

Hairstyles change, dresses and suits transform over the seasons, but one thing that remains ageless is the face of our beloved castle.
The red-tile roof and natural stone compliment nearly every color palette imaginable, so when bridal parties line up along the stone walls, everyone looks their best.
Couples have used all that open space at the top of the walkway for arches, pillars, Huppahs, and floral displays of every size.
Leave it plain or jazz it up, the castle can accommodate almost anything you can think up.

The lawn area is very spacious and we can comfortably seat up to 180 people or fit 300 people standing!

After the ceremony, the staff at Personal Touch Dining move the chairs to the dining area and the front lawn opens up for pictures or optional lawns games provided by the castle!
We have Giant Jenga, Corn Hole, and many other fun outdoor games that the couple can ask to use at no extra cost.

Our Great Hall is one of the most versatile spaces at our Castle.
The peak of Mt. Woodson rests at 2,881 feet above sea level with our beautiful Castle just below.
We might be just a skip away from Poway and it’s Southern California weather, but its like we get actual seasons up here! Just a bit further down the freeway from us and you hit Julian, San Diego’s small town mountain get-away where tourists flock to get a taste of the real snow during the winter.
We can plan anything for your wedding, but we can’t plan the weather.
So if the forecast for your big day begins to look wet and cold, we have many solutions, and our favorite is using our Great Hall.
Here, we’ve got an example of a smaller sized party, but we can fit many round tables into this space as well. In one day our team can flip the space from ceremony, to dinner service, and clear the room for dancing as well!
Thanks to True Photography for this awesome angle shot featured above!
For this particular wedding, we cleared half of the tables to give lots of room for end of the night festivities.
Our Great Hall allows for solutions to any situations that might arise. Plus, the natural stone and original painted ceiling pillars accentuate any regal decor you had in mind.
Special thanks to Personal Touch Dining for providing the Management and staff for all of our events!
Missy and Scott had the Castle all flushed with their fuschia and royal blue accent colors. Here at Mt. Woodson, we fully encourage couples to let their highlights POP!
A reversal from the normal arrangement, (white table linens with pink napkins), these pink tables draw out the reds and blush colors of our rose gardens framing the upper lawn and make it feel like Spring any time of the year. Scott and Missy also had some adorable mason jar mugs to act as both an escort card and a personalized glass for each guest. Now there’s no way to lose your drink!
Sugar Rose Flowers stopped us in our tracks with their gorgeous floral arch over the sweetheart table where the happy couple sat during dinner. What a beautiful way to incorporate a crystal chandelier outdoors! The roses in the piece were stunning and drew the eye from across the venue with their luscious berry tones.
Thank you, Missy and Scott, for including us in your family celebration! We had a blast! And big thanks to Paige Hill Photography, these pictures are great.

Though we’re most obviously known for our beautiful castle and the stunning back drop it creates for our Upper Lawn ceremonies, we just wanted to give a little shout out to one of our more hidden treasures: the Oak Tree ceremony location.
The space is magical with a quieter and more intimate feel, tucked beneath our handsome oaks. Reminiscent of a church with our recommended chair configuration, there’s a sense of reverence that sets in as guests wait for the ceremony to begin.
Some couples keep it simple allowing the nature around the space to set the tone, while others prefer to take this classic canvas and create their own masterpiece. The trees never over impose upon any theme a couple wants to go for, they simply are and the person’s vision can work with them.
The crystal chandeliers in this photo meld nature and classic vintage beauty effortlessly to bring a focal point to the center above the bride and groom.
Thanks to all of our creative Brides and Grooms for letting their imagination run wild in our Oak Tree ceremony spot. You all continuously surprise us with your ability to transform this space into unique extensions of yourselves. Thank you to all the talented photographers who are able to capture this magic as well!
Family and good friends are the most valuable pieces to a happy wedded life for Julia and Robin. Their joy for being in the moment, surrounded by the ones they love, is evident in every picture taken. Their love for each other is reflected in the serene, happy gazes they share and a healthy appreciation for the good fortune and hard work they’ve had so far.
We were able to fit all 105 guests comfortably in our cozy great hall where each guest table was literary themed and decorated with beautiful hard back books. Food, Management, and Coordination was all through the wonderful Personal Touch Dining.
The gorgeous royal blue was a perfect accent color to really stand out against all the sage and succulent undertones of her bouquet by Urban Garden and our grand oaks that are part of our signature here at the castle.
Thank you, Robin and Julia for choosing us to share such a beautiful and memorable day with. Round of applause to True Photography for capturing so many sweet moments and Dancing DJ Productions for keeping everyone on the dance floor!
Brittany and Alfred’s fairytale wedding took place in the late fall at Mt. Woodson Castle and the décor was right on theme including Cinderella pumpkins and candles adorning the back of the ceremony and gorgeous fall florals. The crossback chairs were a perfect compliment to the farm tables at the reception with floral garlands laid down as a refined and gorgeous centerpiece.

It was all about the details for Brittany and Jonathan’s wedding day. From custom wine cork escort cards, Jenga piece guestbook, signature cocktails, custom drinkware and koozies they had it all. Take a look at the images below to get ideas how we can help make your wedding day as personal as Brittany and Jonathan’s. What we remember most from this day is how fun-filled it was. Brittany and Jonathan are two of the nicest people we have had the honor of working with. It is easy to tell from the photos just how much fun everyone was having at this wedding. Thank you Brittany and Jonathan for bringing so much love and happiness to the Castle!

The final wedding of 2018 at Mt. Woodson Castle belongs to Rachel and Matt! We are so thrilled we to have had the opportunity to help these two celebrate their big day. Rachel and Matt were a dream to work with and the day could not have been better!
Lindsey & Gregory said their I Do’s with an Oak Tree ceremony followed by a Lower Lawn Reception. Lindsey’s elegant style was a match made in heaven for the Castle’s classic aesthetic.
